OUR CRUELTY-FREE MAKE-UP PROMISE

WHY EXPLOIT ANIMALS WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO?

At Nude by Nature, we don’t believe in animal testing for the sake of beauty.

We are different, proudly cruelty-free and PETA certified.

When you shop with Nude by Nature, you’re casting a vote for the kind of world you want to live in. By supporting a cruelty-free company, you are helping a good cause and the movement towards ending animal testing practices.

You can choose beauty that is good for you - and your animal friends.

IT’S TIME TO CHOOSE CRUELTY-FREE MAKE-UP

Many beauty brands still make dogs, cats and rabbits suffer. They don’t have to.

With scientific methods improving every day, animal testing alternatives are stronger than ever. There is a range of different testing methods available that are often considered more reliable and efficient than animal tests.

In addition to not testing on animals and using synthetic fibres for our make-up brushes, Nude by Nature products are made with 100% natural ingredients and formulated without synthetic ingredients or preservatives often found in cosmetics such as Silicone, Siloxanes, Phthalates, Sulphates, PEGS, Triclosan, Phenoxyethanol or Parabens, and do not contain Carmine, Talc or Bismuth Oxychloride.

Nude by Nature make-up brushes are all made with high quality synthetic fibres which are entirely cruelty-free. With the help of the latest technologies, we have found that the synthetic bristles perform just as well, if not better than natural hair, with the additional benefits of being more durable, hygienic, hypo-allergenic and easier to clean. Discover our cruelty-free make-up brush collection

HOW DO I KNOW IF A COSMETICS BRAND IS CRUELTY-FREE?

As a guide for finding animal friendly make-up brands, we recommend looking for internationally-recognised cruelty-free logos such as the Leaping Bunny and PETA, or search their websites for the listings of cruelty-free accredited brands.

However, it is important to note that many cruelty-free cosmetics brands may make cruelty-free claims, or display a bunny logo on their packaging without officially being cruelty-free accredited. This is why it is so important to support companies such as Nude by Nature that take the time and effort to become accredited by a non-profit organisation such as PETA.

Formally accredited brands must adhere to specific development and distribution criteria, and must also pass strict review and approval processes to prove their cruelty-free commitment and become acknowledged as genuine cruelty-free advocates.

HOW NUDE BY NATURE IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE

We are continuing to pioneer the beauty industry as more Australian beauty consumers seek out cruelty-free cosmetics.

According to a 2017 study conducted by Roy Morgan*, Australian women are prioritising ‘cruelty-free’ over other characteristics when buying cosmetics. Of Australia’s 10 best-selling cosmetics brands, only Nude by Nature is widely known for its cruelty-free policies.

The survey revealed that not tested on animals was more important to shoppers than an SPF rating. This feature has become the third most influential feature when purchasing products, ahead of both value for money and a natural look. A significant 46% of Australian women who use cosmetics stated that cruelty-free was key, up from 41% in 2012.

Mark Thompson, Nude by Nature CEO says, Producing high quality cosmetics products without testing on animals has been a key priority for our brand. Its encouraging to see consumers now voicing that it matters to them, and that the Australian government is taking steps on banning animal tested products”.

Our high performing natural formulas are proudly cruelty-free and PETA certified, whilst remaining free from synthetic ingredients or preservatives often found in cosmetics such as Silicone, Siloxanes, Phthalates, Sulphates, PEGS, Triclosan, Phenoxyethanol or Parabens, and do not contain Carmine, Talc or Bismuth Oxychloride.

ARE CRUELTY-FREE PRODUCTS VEGAN?

Not necessarily. The term ‘cruelty-free’ means no form of animal testing has taken place at any point in the creation of a brand’s products. While a product labelled ‘vegan’ means it must not contain any animal products, animal by-products, or animal derivatives, though sadly that does not signify that the product is also certified cruelty-free, or not tested on animals. It’s important to remember a product can be cruelty-free without being vegan.

Nude by Nature is proudly cruelty-free and PETA certified, and has a broad selection of vegan friendly products, plus an extensive range of cruelty-free professional make-up brushes. The non-vegan products in the range may contain beeswax and or lanolin, which are both ethically sourced and no animals are harmed in the production of these ingredients. While still cruelty-free, our products that contain these ingredients cannot be considered vegan.

If you are interested in a particular Nude by Nature product and would like to know whether it is vegan friendly, check the full ingredients listing available on all products online and on our product packaging. If you would like further assistance, our Customer Care Team will gladly assist you in selecting vegan friendly Nude by Nature make-up.
